FBW #193 - Spring Theme sponsored by Robyn's Fetish

This week we are being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish. I decided to work with Babette The Bunny for my creation. The challenge is to make a NEW creation with a SPRING THEME and remember to include your butterfly, fairy or angel on it!

My card design comes from Carly's Sketch (#51) and I used my new Doodlebug Hello Spring 6x6 paper pad which just SCREAMS Spring to me! I like the happy colors and am ready to see some GREEN around here!

We've got a few changes on the FBW team...first, Peggy is joining us again (welcome back!). Sadly, Amanda is leaving us and this will be her last week with us. We'll miss you, Amanda and hope to see you fluttering with us again!

Stop by the Flutter By Wednesday blog for all the details on this weeks challenge and to see some fabulous inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

Flutter By Wednesday #165 - Sketch Time!!

Today for Flutter By Wednesday we are getting sketchy! Danni has created a wonderful sketch for us to use - don't forget your butterfly, fairy or angel!

There are so many possibilities with this sketch so have fun! I rotated the sketch for my card.
I'm using a new set called SEW LOVELY by Nina Bracket available through The Angel Company. It's also a sneak peek at my August Card Kit. I'll show the rest of the cards this week. I paired the sweet stamps from Sew Lovely with Juliette SWIC - love the vintage feel it has. I was going to add butterflies around the image (where the dots are on the sketch) but it seemed a little too much. So I decided to add a butterfly with the sentiment and then accent the image with a few dew drops.

I'd love to see what you do with Danni's sketch! Join us over at the FBW blog and play along! Thanks for stopping by today!

Coffee Girl

Hello! Are you enjoying your weekend? I don't know about you but this summer has just flown by! I know I haven't posted much. I'm sorry about that. School is just around the corner and I'm trying to get organized and cram in as much fun as possible! We've got quite a few things planned in the next few weeks - things that are new (Great Wolf Lodge) and things that are a tradition (Lawrence Fair). Today we are going to our first T-Bones game...Abby's only been to one baseball game and that was when she was like 3. We picked a night when they are supposed to have fireworks after the game too so that will be fun.

So I'm here today to show you a cute little image from Mabelle RO called Coffee Girl. I'm definitely a coffee girl! Have to have it everyday! And with the temperatures being in the 100's the last few weeks my choice has been ice coffee :D

I grabbed my Tickled Pink paper pad from My Mind's Eye and started coloring up this cutie. Then I added a little doodling with my white gel pen. I decided to put a little sentiment directly on the cup...I {heart} how it turned out! See the flower - well I made that with a new EK punch I got. Have you seen these? I got like 3 different ones - they are so fun! The layout is the newest sketch from Jen over on the Deconstructed Sketch Blog - LOVIN' her sketches!!

Well thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! If you liked to get Coffee Girl or see the other FABULOUS digital images from Mabelle RO, just visit the Whimsy and Stars Studio!

My First Christmas Card for 2011!

Hope you had a great weekend! I meant to post this early but was enjoying the weather with family. Plus today marks my 13th wedding anniversary so I felt it only right to spend some time helping the hubby where I could :D

So May is almost over which means the Savvy Projects Card A Day In May promo is almost over. We have one more sketch for you.

It's a nice "easy" one that allows for a large image. I decided to ink up Hung On A Tree and finally get a Christmas card created. Since I'm not on the CSAYL DT anymore I haven't been doing any Christmas cards and I think that's going to end up biting me later on. Oh well...too much going on and I need to take a break somewhere!

I colored the tree with pencils and OMS and then added some sparkle using the Stardust Clear Gelly Pen. Not sure you can see but I used some yellow shimmer chalk to add some depth around the tree...really makes it shimmer!

It's nice to have one Christmas card done...I think it may inspire me to try and do some more each week! Yeah right we'll see if that happens!! With summer vacation here there is so much I want to do...but so far I'm enjoying the taking it easy part!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love You!

Over on the Savvy Projects Blog for the month of May we are doing a Card A Day. Here is my card for this week - decided to finally ink the set MICE DAY up.

Each week Heather has provided us a sketch to use - love that she includes the dimensions!

And here is my completed card
I've seen so many ruffles on cards so wanted to try that. Plus my sewing machine is finally somewhere where I can actually use it :D I colored the image first and then pulled the cardstock colors from it. My hubby and I will be celebrating 13 years of marriage on Monday so I was in the love you mood!

Drop over to the Savvy Projects blog to see all the wonderful creations and to play along! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend - stay safe!!

FBW #155 - Carly's Sketch (and Happy Birthday to me)

What a glorious Wednesday - even though it's raining outside I don't care! It's my birthday and I'm celebrating. And by celebrating I mean having a day to myself to do whatever! First up a little crafting - ok maybe that's all I will do but that's ok since it's my birthday, lol!

For Flutter By Wednesday we have another wonderful sketch from Carly to use. Remember to have a butterfly, angel or fairy on your NEW creation.

Here is my card

I just got a new set Butterfly stamp set and die that I really wanted to use. I'm really enjoying the ability to create a cute card quickly. My birthday stash is a little low which is why I seem to be making so many lately. All the cardstock is from my scrap pile as well...so nice to be able to use those up!

I hope you'll give Carly's sketch a try...it's a lot of fun. Head over to the FBW blog to see all the details. Be sure to stop by the DT's blogs as well - I'm sure their creations will knock your socks off! Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Card A Day In The Month Of May

****ETA - with Blogger having issues, I lost this post and am reposting it****

Yes, it's true! This month the Savvy Projects blog is showcasing a card every day! Talk about inspiration galore!! And if you are a sketch lover, like myself, it gets even better because each week a different sketch from the fabulous Heather will be used!!

Sometimes I feel as though I'm about two steps behind - and this week I'm like 4 days late in showing my card that I actually had done BEFORE May! Oh well such is life. So first up is my creation using week 1 sketch

The Sketch - Heather even includes the dimensions so it's easy cutting!!

Had to grab my favorite set Happily Grateful. Tried to use bright happy colors as I want to make the recipient smile when they get this!

Added some Scrapper's Floss and a button to add some interest. Whatcha think?

Next is this week's sketch :D

I decided to use the Stamp Of The Month, Sunflowers for this card. In the month of May you can get this fabulous set for only $7.95 with a qualifying purchase.

Just trying to show how I paper pieced the container and cut out the sunflowers and attached with some pop dots. I added a little shading around the flowers to give it more depth as well.

Around the red cardstock, I used my Scor-Buddy to add an embossed box. It just gives it a little more "umph".

So whatcha think? Please take a few minutes/hours/days to go check out the Savvy Projects blog and all the inspiration! Better yet, add your own inspiration and play along. We'd love to have you!!

FBW #146 - Going Green &/or Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another edition of FBW! Today I am using Faith Flowers from Mabelle RO. She's available from Whimsy and Stars Studio. The challenge this week at FBW, is to use the color green and we have a fabulous sketch by Carly that you can use as well.

Remember your creation must include butterflies, fairies or an Angel. For my creation I used paper that had butterflies on it.
I've been making all kinds of yo yo's so decided to finally use one on my card. I've seen them with buttons on them but thought it would be neat to put a bow in the center. What do you think? You likey?

Be sure to stop by the FBW blog and play along! It's a wonderful sketch - one I'm sure I'll be using again and again (thank you Carly for it!). Stop by the DT's blogs to see their fabulous creations too!

Thanks for stopping by!

FBW #129 - Open Challenge

Good Morning! How are you today? We've got a fun week at Flutter By Wednesday! It's an OPEN CHALLENGE - anything goes as long as you have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. PLUS this week we are sponsored by In Style Stamps.

I'm using FAIRY CHLOE for my creation

I'm a little disappointed in my picture taking...the dress LOOKS awesome IRL and the colors match the cardstock beautifully (trust me!). I added Glossy Accents to Chloe's dress. Then I added a little Stardust Clear Gelly Pen to the word Sparkle.
The lovely layout is provided by Friday Sketchers (Sketch #126)...LOVE the layers to it! I really LOVE this card...it's one of my favorites! What do you think?

I hope you'll join us in our challenge this week. There is a prize package of 4 digital images up for grabs. So head on over to the Flutter By Wednesday Blog to see all the details and to play along!!

Thanks for stopping by!

FBW #123

We have a special Flutter By Challenge this week - for this week only, you may use any and all winged things!! That's right? Ladybugs, dragonflies, birds...if it's got wings you can use it!!

I still decided to use butterflies this week since I just got this new butterfly die :) I have a lot going on right now and am running short on time so I decided to create a CAS card. You know what - it felt good too. Being able to get a card done quickly AND I like it - totally plus!

I love all the challenges that are out there but find that I don't always get to play. I have a binder where I keep the sketches, color combos, etc. in so that I can refer back to them. For this card I used an old Clean & Simple Sketch #95 and my color combo comes from Color Throwdown (#107). I made my own background paper by using the large flower from the Blossoms & Blessings stamp set from TAC.

I hope you will join in our challenge this week and play along! Be sure to stop by the Flutter By Wednesday blog to link your NEW creation. Sorry about last week and not getting a card finished. Woodware USA was the sponsor and they have some cute stuff! I really wanted to create something but just ran out of time! Be sure to check the blog to see if you won the prize though!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Friday at CSAYL - Challenge #59

Happy Friday to you! Thanks for stopping by for Christmas Stampin' All Year Long's challenge! It's a good one - I LOVE sketches and Maria always has such fabulous ones! That's right this week our challenge is to create a HOLIDAY CARD using the fabulous SKETCH below!

I rotated mine to accommodate one of my favorite stamp sets, Winter Tags by The Angel Company.

Who can resist such cute snowmen? I used a little Icicle Stickles for the snow and snowflakes - I think it turned out WONDERFUL!! EXACTLY the look I wanted to achieve (love it when that happens, don't you?)

I always pick my DP and then color and design around that. It's just easier for me. This time though I had a hard time finding matching cardstock. When I tried black cardstock, I liked the way everything just "popped" so I went with it :)

I hope you will join us - you do know that Christmas is 6 months away, right? Might as well get started now so you beat the holiday rush and stress! Stop by the CSAYL blog and see all the details for this weeks challenge, link your creation and see the other fabulous creations done by the DT. Remember if you play along, you could win a guest DT spot - so come on...JOIN US!!

FBW - Paper Piecing Challenge

Hi and welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday! This week, fellow team mate KIMBERLY gave us the challenge to use PAPER PIECING somewhere on our creation. Of course, we had to include a BUTTERFLY, FAIRY or ANGEL as well.

Ok, I'm going to be honest - with Preschool ending next week, Abby's school winding up, getting ready for a garage sale, spending time with family and gearing up for my birthday I've been SLIGHTLY overwhelmed and well, behind. SO I starting creating my card at about 10pm last night. Needless to say, the lighting at midnight isn't the best so PLEASE forgive the washed out pictures.

Moving on...I used Nurse Nora, a fabulous Swiss Pixie I received some time ago but have never used. I also used the CAS Fall-to Layout #89 for my card (flipping it and using the image in place of the sentiment).

I realized that I forgot to add SPARKLE to her wings and will be doing that NOW! Another funny story for you - wasn't sure if the challenge was PIECING or PIERCING so I did both :) Here's a close up of my fine paper PIECING skills, lol!

So do you feel like playing along with our challenge this week? Just visit the Flutter By Wednesday Blog to link your creation. PLUS have you ever thought it'd be cool to be a part of our design team? Well now is YOUR chance to let us know. We are looking for guest designers...go to the BLOG for all the details!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Mother's Day

I know this is a late post for me but I'm down to the wire on the Tiddly Inks Challenge #2. This week we were to use a Tiddly Ink image and make a Mother's Day card.

I used the super sweet ANNIE image that I received FREE by being a member of the Tiddly Inks PCP group (thanks again, Christy!) For my colors, I used the Paper Sundaes #16 challenge of RED, GREEN, YELLOW. My Mom's favorite colors are red and yellow so it was a no brainer to use it! For the layout I used Sweet Sketch Wednesday #47. Such an awesome sketch...perfect for ANNIE to be the center of attention!

I colored the heart and cut it out in order to pop it up. I'm so thankful for all my Mom does for me and my family and I know she will LOVE this card!! What do you think? Are you ready for Mother's Day?

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

CSAYL Challenge #48 - Sketch

TGIF!!! I'm so ready for the weekend...maybe I'll actually get some crafting time in! As you know Friday's are reserved for my Christmas creations. This week the challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long is to create a card using the following sketch.

It's an awesome one - Love the layers and the oval...seems like I use a lot of circles. Funny how we get comfortable with things and forget to branch out. That's why I so enjoy challenges...helps push my comfort zone.

A couple of things on this - you'll notice NO pattern paper...UNUSUAL for me! Again...trying something new :) All supplies are from The Angel Company except the embossing folder that I used. I rubbed Brilliance Moonlight White over the embossed paper to help "pop" it a little. Gives it a nice shine. I also highlighted the bird using my Stardust Clear Gelly pen. You can see that better in the photo below.

To achieve the oval, I did a reverse masking and sponged on the inside using Memento Rich Cocoa.

I hope you'll play along this week. Just visit the CSAYL blog for all the details! Thanks for stopping by!

Card Details:
Cardstock - Navy, Olive and Kraft
Stamps - Peace and Just for you (retired)

Sketch Time at Flutter By Wednesday!

Welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday! The CHALLENGE this week is to create a card using the fabulous SKETCH by Mercy.

Of course in order for it to be a Flutter By you need to make sure that card also has a BUTTERFLY, FAIRY or ANGEL on it!

For my creation, I got to FINALLY ink up a SWEET PEA stamp. I know, I know - I'm the last one to use one...but my motto is BETTER LATE THAN NEVER so here goes!

I'm so FREAKIN' pleased with how this turned out. I bought like 5 different Sweet Pea images and after getting them I kind of got nervous...I mean have you SEEN the creations with these babies? GORGEOUS, I tell you! Anyway, I decided to use COME SOFTLY first to kind of get me warmed up...not too shabby if I do say so myself! What do you think?

I wanted to draw attention to the butterfly (DUH...it's Flutter By Wednesday) so I stamped the butterfly, colored it with copics, applied a little glitter, cut it out and then put Diamond Glaze all over it. Once dried I adhered it to my card using pop dots. Here is a better view:

Man, I wish my eyes were that sexy, lol! I hope you find time to play along! The sketch by Mercy is a fun one - so many possibilities! Remember to visit the Flutter By Wednesday Blog for all the details on how you can participate - hope to see YOUR creation!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Clean & Simple

Quick post for today. I filled in for the music teacher on Friday morning and then a preK class in the afternoon and I'm pretty sure I picked something up. I haven't felt very good most of the weekend and now I have a horrible sore throat and head congestion!

Here is another scrap card from the weekend challenge. I like the clean and simple look but have a hard time with "white space". When I saw sketch #77 at the Clean & Simple Stamping blog, I knew I wanted to give it a try!

Sorry for the horrible picture. Not sure what's going on there! I used scrap paper from my bins. The blue paper is actually the reverse side of the dot pattern paper. Easy peasy for sure! The swirl is from Butterfly Swirls by The Angel Company. I added a few rhinestones to the center of the flowers. So what do you think? I made this for a friend that is going through a rough time right now. She's been in the hospital since the 20th of January. I keep praying for her and her family and hope that she is on the road to recovery!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

FBW Challenge #92

Welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday challenge! I'm so glad you stopped by! This week our challenge is an OPEN one. ANYTHING goes as long as you INCLUDE A BUTTERFLY, ANGEL or FAIRY! Last week we debuted the new Flutter By Wednesday blog - and we had the most participants who played along which is AWESOME!! Thank you and if you didn't play along, why don't you this week? All you have to do is follow the challenge and link your creation using Mr. Linky on the Flutter By Blog. That's it!! Easy peasy... so what's stopping you?

I'm ready for the bright colors and something different. I had a chance to stop at Archiver's and found some yummy KI Memories paper there. I knew it would be perfect for those Valentine cards that I'm in the mood to make. I searched for the right image and found an image from Paper Makeup Stamps that I had received as a RAK. Since I was using a PMS image I decided to go ahead and play along with their Friday Makeup for the Weekend #11 challenge which is a sketch this week. Here is my creation:

In the sketch it shows the circles behind the image and a sentiment in the lower right corner. Since my circles were my sentiment I decided to put them on the outside of the image. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how my image turned out. I got some new Copics and love that I can do some blue coloring and some different brown. Here's a close up of the image:

Isn't she beautiful! I wish I could wear boots like that! Not to mention look that good in a dress, LOL! I added Crystal Stickles to the heart and wings.
I hope you'll check out the other design team members blogs. And if you haven't checked out the Flutter By Wednesday blog you'll definitely want to - I PROMISE you won't be disappointed - that's all I'm going to say {wink, wink}

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today - I hope you've enjoyed my creation. I know I enjoy having you here and reading all the comments that you leave. It really means a lot!

Where does the time go? Time for another Flutter By Challenge!!

Happy Wednesday to you! Are you getting any free time - I know right now for me, it's far a few between. I'm hoping to escape a little this weekend and have a little girl time with some croppers! Preschool is over for me tomorrow - and then I have tons of baking and shopping to do! My hubby wants to take treats to the workers in his office and since he works with a different crew on Saturday's, Monday's and Tuesday's I basically have to have everything done for this SATURDAY - yes, the time totally snuck up on me! I don't even have my Christmas cards sent out! I have them made, just not signed and addressed - oh well there's still time :o)

As you know today is another Flutter By Wednesday. I'm so excited for this week!! The challenge is to use a wonderful sketch my Mercy along with a BUTTERFLY, FAIRY or ANGEL!! You all know how much I enjoy sketches!! Here's the sketch:

Fabulous, right? So many possibilities - love it!! Here is my card:

I finally got around to using this WONDERFUL image from Christy Croll! I think it's adorable and was so fun to color! The paper is some Chatterbox scraps. I punched out the leaves using my Martha Stewart punch and the flower and circle are from my Marvy Punches. I had just a little bit of scraps left so decided to decorate the inside of the card as well. Here is the inside:

The size of the card is 5.5x5.5. Kind of nice to do a different size card rather than just the same ol same ol!

Hope you can find some time and play along this week! Be sure to stop by Danni's blog to see her creation as well as link your creation up. Need some more inspiration? Visit the other design team members blogs to see their wonderful creations this week - I'm always so impressed with what I see!! They are a great group of ladies - very talented, for sure!! Flutter By Wednesday & High Hopes Challenge

Whew, do I have a lot to tell you today! First off, thanks for dropping by and welcome to another wonderful Flutter By Wednesday!! So much to talk about - I'm so thankful for being a part of this team and all the wonderful things that keep occurring! I'm so happy to announce that starting in JANUARY, Flutter By Wednesday's will have a new home! That's right - our very own blog!! Go there now and become a follower so you don't miss anything!!

This week I'm so EXCITED about our guest designer - it's MERCY!! I've played along with some of her wonderful sketches and her work is so inspirational! Please stop by and take a look at all of her fabulous creations!

As far as team members go - this week we say goodbye to Taylor. We wish her well and look forward to her participating next year! We also say hello to Kimberly - welcome to the team and we look forward to seeing your wonderful Flutter By Designs!

The challenge this week is an open one - anything goes EXCEPT you HAVE TO HAVE A BUTTERFLY, FAIRY or ANGEL on the card! So come on folks, get your stuff out and play along! Stop by Danni's blog to link your creation using Mr. Linky! Ok on to my card - this week I changed it up a bit and went with bright colors and a brand new stamp. I was fortunate to receive a gift certificate for Christmas early from a dear, dear friend (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) and I chose this stamp, Little Missy from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

I decided to play along with High Hopes Challenge which is a sketch (gotta love those sketches). So this card is also my entry into the High Hopes Challenge #55 (whohoo for me - two challenges in one week....don't fall down, I know it's shocking!). I just love the colors I used - here is a close up of Little Missy herself:

SO whatcha think? She's adorable isn't she! So bright and cheerful - just makes me smile! I hope she brings you a little joy today! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
