Upcoming Class - Perpetual Birthday Calendar

Happy New Year!! I hope your 2015 is off to a good start! As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm going to be posting on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Another goal of mine is to hold at least ONE class a month. So for the month of January I'm having the Perpetual Birthday Calendar class.

This is a new kit from the upcoming Occasions Catalog (which I might add goes LIVE on January 6th). January screams organization! Come join me to create this calendar where you can record all of your family and friends birthdays (and anniversaries).

Your only excuse for not sending a card will be that you forgot to mail it! I will provide all the inks, as well as stamp set and a few extras to create the monthly pages. You can also make one as a gift - it comes in a box, with a tag and ribbon for just the case!

Registration is due by January 14th along with payment of $30. This will allow be to get the kits ordered and ready before the class. I'm offering two different times - Sunday January 25th from 1 - 4pm. or Wednesday January 28th from 6 - 9pm.

Hope you can make it! Email me if you'd like a registration form! Space is limited so the sooner you register the better :D

It's SALE-A-BRATION time!!!

First off you are probably like - WHOA what is going on? I mean it's been FOREVER since I've posted, right!?! It was meant to me a small break, then this happened and that happened and holidays came and on and on and on...next thing you know it's been 5 months! Geez! But I'm ready to change that.

First up - guess what time it is?

It's everyone's favorite time! You get FREE exclusive product with $50 purchase. If you host a party, you get an extra $30 with a qualifying order. PLUS new recruits get $150 worth of product for just $99. Yippee! How cool is that? I'd love to have you join my team!

Here's a fun little project I made using the exclusive stamp set Banner Blast and Banner Punch both available in the Sale-A-Bration brochure. You can see the brochure HERE.

I should also mention that the Occasion Catalog came out this month as well.

Lots of new products to make those Spring & Graduation cards and so much more. The paper in my calendar is from the Occasion and it's called Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stacks. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! The quote is from a new set called Perfect Pennants. You can see the Occasions Catalog HERE.

Desktop Calendar

Good Morning! I don't know what it is but I can't seem to have enough calendars. I enjoy making them and usually try and give them as gifts. This year I'm a little late but it's okay since there is still a lot of 2011 left! To make it easier I used the stamp set Thanking God - it has these cute little birds that go with each season. I added a few other stamp sets to compliment the seasons and yahoo...an instant calendar.

The calendar is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock scored at 4 1/4. Each season is the size of an A2 card. The bottom of the colored cardstock on each side is not adhered so that the stand can easily slip in.

I like the size of it - small enough to sit on my desk but not too small that I can't read the dates. Yes, as I get older the eye sight gets just a tad worse....thank goodness I know a good eye doctor who can get me some stylish readers :D

Hope you've enjoyed my creation today! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Calendar Time With Softpencil

I had so much fun creating today's project - it was an awesome change to create something other than a card! I am a $ store junkie - If I find a good deal on something I grab it up. Of course, I don't always know what I'm going to do with my finding. But I know one day I will be able to figure something out. I picked up these paint your own wall plaques thinking I'd make some signs to hang around the house. When I saw that we were using a calendar template for our Softpencil Tuesday creation I knew that the plaque would be perfect!

You can find this awesome calendar (Two Birds on a Kite) in the Softpencil Etsy Shop. And remember there is SALE going on - 20% off ALL DESIGNS!!! What a deal!

I painted the edge of the plaque with pink paint and then traced it onto pattern paper. After the paint dried, I applied the pattern paper and sanded the edges. I then sponged brown ink around the edges to give it a "finished" look. Since the calendar is a digital image you can make it as big or small as you want. Perfect for ANY project!!

Here are a few close ups:

I paper pieced the kite. Not sure you can see the sparkle on the hearts and kite bows. It's just a little something something. I replaced the string the plaque came with and used my yummy chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

I {heart} this and hope you do too! The cool thing is I got it down BEFORE 2011...meaning it's ready to use!! Pretty cool, huh?

Remember that all the current digital images that are for sale are only available until January 2nd. After that they will be gone! So hurry on over to the ETSY store and get your stuff today!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday to you! It's still cold here and I'm heading into my craft room to try and finish up some projects. This is one that I'm working on. I've got them almost all colored and ready to go. This Sunday, I'll be participating in an open house where I'll have some handmade items for sale as well as my TAC stuff. This calendar is one of the items. I found this idea on the web a year or two ago. I do that a lot, find things I love but then never find time to actually make them. Well every year I make calendars and with my new job at the Preschool this year, I just haven't had as much "free time" as I have in the past. This calendar was the perfect solution.

The size is just a regular A2 card. Each side has a season on it. The bottom of the colored cardstocks are not glued down and a small piece of cardstock is tucked under providing a stand. Hope that makes sense! First up is SUMMER:

stamps: Edge Designs & Butterfly Bits; Ink: Orangerie, L'Amore Red, Chartreuse Palette Pads

Next up is FALL:

stamps: Fall & Winter Whimsy (retired set); Inks: Noir Black & Violete Palette Pad; Colored image using Aquacolor Crayons & Niji Water Brush, skin tone is with my Copics.

Next up is WINTER:

Stamps: Vintage Santa (snowflakes) & Merriest Wishes (snowman); Inks: Noir Black Palette Pad and Summer Sky Memento Ink; Colored image using my Prismacolor pencils & OMS, pink is colored using my Copics.

Next up is SPRING:

stamps: Beautiful Day; Ink: Noir Black & Paris Lights Palette Pad; Colored birds with Aquacolor Crayons and Niji Water Brush.

Obviously, I went out of order a little as the calendar would start with WINTER. So on one side of a 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 sheet of paper (scored at 5 1/4) you would have WINTER and SPRING. Flip it over and then you'll have SUMMER and FALL. Pretty cool huh?

I hope I sell a few. If not, I'll let you know. So if you want one, leave me a comment telling me and then if I have left overs I'll go in order of requests. I'm also going to give a few as Christmas gifts! They are a nice size to have by your computer too!!

Well that's it for me today! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I am a TAC demonstrator. If you are interested in purchasing any of the items used in this project, just click on the item and you'll be taken to my secure 24/7 online shopping site. If you have any questions, feel free to email me!

Teacher Gift

I'm so happy to share this little project with you today. I just LOVE how this turned out and will be making more of these in the future! This is a purse that I found on Tracy's Inky Doodles Blog. She provides excellent step by step instructions with photos! Here is the outside of my purse.

I should tell you that I had trouble keeping my purse closed so I added a Velcro dot to the middle and it worked perfectly! This is the inside of the purse. This side holds 6 greeting cards and envelopes.

Here are the greeting cards. I really like how everything coordinates. I used We R Memory Keepers papers for everything.

This is the other side - it holds a calendar, which I got instructions from my good friend Heather. And doesn't every teacher deserve chocolate - the good stuff too!

Now isn't that SWEEET!! The most confusing part was figuring out how to cut the plastic boxes that go on the inside of the purse. Other than that it was really fast and it only takes one piece of 6 x 12 cardstock, ribbon, some scraps and a clear card box to make!

I'm telling you, this is ADORABLE! I'd be more than happy to answer any questions about it cause I think you need to make one too! Would love to hear what you think, so leave me a comment!

Thanks for looking!

More Calendars - Part 2

As promised here are the last four months of the calendar. I ended up using pencils for two months and Copics for the other two. I really like how it turned out and hope that Pam is pleased with them!

If you missed the first post with the other months, you can see it here.

Would love to hear what you think! Thanks so much for looking!

More Calendars

Sorry for the break in posts! I've been busy working on projects but haven't finished anything yet. Although I'm not completely done with this calendar, I decided I just had to share. I got an order for some cards & calendars (Thanks Pam!) that I have to send out this week. I was having a hard time finding time to create as Abby wants my complete attention right now. Grandma offered to take her yesterday afternoon and she stayed all night! Plus hubby was gone so I was completely alone from 2pm till noon today! Needless to say I got quite a bit done! I downloaded the calendar from Amuse. I got the calendar cases from PTI . The calendar was a little smaller then the case but I just put a piece of cardstock to serve as a mat for each month. I think it looks good! Here is the calendars in the case (sorry for the blurry picture!)

I stamped each month out and then went back through and started coloring. Right now I'm working on 5 of these but am pretty sure I will need a few more. I plan on giving a few as Christmas gifts! The next few photos are of each individual month. I still have 4 months left to color.

I used a variety of stamps and colored with my Copics. For the months I have left I think I will be coloring with my colored pencils because the stamps I used are a little more detailed and I don't have a ton of Copic colors. It's hard though cause I really like the brightness of the markers! I still need to edge each month with my black ink pad as well. I had to quit at about 1am though because my hand/arm felt like it was going to fall off! I haven't stamped & colored that much in a LONG time!

When I get the other months done (hopefully today!), I'll share those as well. Would love to hear what you think! Thanks so much for looking!
