Retro Sketches - Feel Better Soon

Hello! I seem to never have enough Feel Better cards so I was excited to color up FEEL BETTER SOON by Mabelle over at Whimsy & Stars Studio. She's so sweet she'll make anyone feel better!

I am digging the sketches over at Retro Sketches and decided to use their latest one (#25) for my creation this week.

I added a little detail by faux stitching with my gel pen and sponging the edges with brown ink. It gives it a little rustic look.

Amelie to the Beach - Summer Fun!

Happy Friday! Hope things are going well for you - this weekend is my sister's baby shower and I've been so busy making sure I get everything made for it that I haven't had much time for other stuff. I will definitely be sharing pictures (after the shower) as I made some really cute stuff. I gotta tell you Pinterest is awesome! What in the world did we do before it?!?!

I've had this cutie colored up - it's the perfect summer image. It's been so hot this summer that we've definitely been swimming more than usual. Can't say I've been to the beach since I'm smack dab in the middle of the good 'ol USA though.

Cheery Wishes

Have a birthday coming up? Well then this new digi, CHEERY WISHES is just perfect for you! How cute is she? And of course change the colors and it will be a perfect boy bear, too! I added a little Crystal Stickles to give it some bling. Since I'm just getting back into crafting after a 2 month hiatus, I decided to do a little sketch searching. I found this cool sketch over at RETRO SKETCHES...

It was fun to cut out my image instead of just having the "normal" square/rectangle/circle/oval shape I always seem to have. I used October Afternoon, Cakewalk paper. Hexagons are all the rage and I picked up a new Die-namic die at my LSS so I could be hip, lol!

I got a new embossing folder and am LOVING it - I go through those phases where I realize stuff. Right now there are a lot of items I have that I haven't been using. I want to change that!

St. Patty Teddy

Today was the last day of school for Abby and I for the next 10 days!! Yep it's Spring Break for us here in Kansas. Friday we will be working on our Girl Scout Float for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. So I'm getting in the mood for some green!

Mabelle has this CUTE digital stamp, St. Patty's Teddy available in the Whimsy and Stars Studio Etsy shop that is perfect to use with green. I just had to make a card with it...and realize that you can use this after St. Patty's day. I mean I can totally make some "LUCKY" to have you as a friend cards!!

I used an old sketch (#49) from My Time Made Easy. I don't seem to get to play along with challenges as they happen but I can't let a good sketch go to waste! I was also able to dig in my scrap bin which is always a plus to use them up!

FBW #191 - Photo Inspiration

Hello Blogging Friends! Have you ever had those weeks/days/months years when everything and anything goes wrong. I didn't even know what day it was! Abby was out of school for 5 days and my schedule is all out of whack....add in hubby throwing some stuff at me and well it's been one heck of a week!

I'm just excited that I actually got an opportunity to use the computer so I could post this (after I remembered it was Wednesday, lol). So this week at Flutter By Wednesday we have a photo inspiration challenge. Interpret it anyway you want but remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on it.

Such a pretty picture. When I looked at it I saw PINK, FLOWERS and BUTTERFLIES. So I decided to use one of Mabelle's new digi's, Teddy's Flower. You can see all the new digi's on the Whimsy & Stars Studio Blog.

I colored using my pencils and OMS - been a long time since I've used them. Seems like I'm always grabbing for my Copics.

Angel Heart

Happy Valentine's Day to you!! I hope you have a love filled day :D I'm just stopping by to share another creation using Mabelle RO digi called Angel Heart.

I paper pieced her dress and hat with some of the fabulous Echo Park paper. I found the perfect sentiment in my MFT Pure Innocence stamp collection. I think this will make a great thinking of you card! I tried a new coloring technique on her wings and I must say I LOVE it!

The sketch I used is an old one from Raise the Bar. Love that the card is larger (5x7) and has so many layers.

Friends meet Lucy - isn't she adorable? She used to be available as a rubber stamp through The Angel Company but now you can get her through Whimsy and Stars Studio as a digital stamp! Yippee!!

I had to use my favorite Valentine's Day color combo again - pink, red and purple! She's perfect to let those friends know they are in your heart.
I used The Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS144) for my layout along with some doodlebug papers. I really like how it turned out. Whatcha think?

Valentine Girly

Well it's been awhile since I've shared one of Mabelle's wonderful digi's. I'm getting back in the swing of things and right now it's all about Valentine's & Friendship. You can find many beautiful digital image in the Whimsy & Stars Studio Etsy Shop. I used Valentine Girly for my card.

Did you know that Doodlebug FINALLY came out with 6x6 pads? They are so cute...now I can get fabulous 12x12 and 6x6 papers from one of my FAVORITE manufacturers. Oh how that makes me happy!

I went ahead and did a little decorating on the inside. Not that big of a deal but last year I made all card fronts so this year I'm trying to make FULL cards so I can send them out more. I mean I think I've "collected" enough - time to send and spread some smiles!

FBW #183 - Last Challenge for 2011

Can you believe this is the last challenge for 2011? I'm looking forward to what 2012 holds for the Flutter By Team! I'm looking forward to the break though as this is the time to spend time with family and friends. No worries, right?

Gratitude Blog Hop!

So I was going to post this like um 4 days ago and TOTALLY forgot! Yes, my mind has been like that lately! So did you have a good Thanksgiving? I did!! We had wonderful food, great time with family, played some cards, went to see The Muppets and did LOTS of shopping! Yes, I was a part of the Black Friday sales - and it was odd being out shopping at 3 and 4 am! We got some good deals though but then my "schedule" was all mixed up for like 2 days!

Mabelle is having the first ever Gratitude Blog Hop over on the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog. I wanted to join in on the fun so I grabbed ACORN SQUIRREL and created this card.

I found this wonderful sketch (#44) over on Sketches by Carly blog. I thought it would show off the digital image and the fall paper. I colored the image with my Copics - I was trying to make the squirrel look like he has fluffy fur...still working on that technique.

Flutter By Wednesday #180

Welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday! This week we say hello to a new team member, Amanda! Plus we have the multi-talented, Jessica Diedrich as the guest designer. Woohoo more awesomeness to look at :D

I decided to use an angel this week as I need to get some more holiday cards done! The challenge is your favorite - OPEN...remember anything goes as long as you include a fairy, butterfly or angel on a NEW creation!

I grabbed one of Mabelle's wonderful digi's called Felicity and started coloring. I added some Crystal Stickles to her wings and the small stars. Isn't she just the sweetest?
I used some paper that I found at Hobby Lobby...plus when I went to check out I got it at 40% off since it was in the Christmas area and not the scrapbook area. SCORE for me!

Thankful for YOU!

I'm thankful for all my friends and family! I'm NOT thankful for computers as this is my second time writing this post! ARGHHHH....add in that I have a nasty cough/cold and well it sucks!

Oh well - on to my regular scheduled post, lol! This week at Flutter By Wednesday we are using the theme - friendship/gratitude along with a fairy, butterfly or angel.

I just received a few new rubber stamp sets in the mail from the fabulous Mabelle RO. On her Whimsy & Stars Studio she has some cute digital images and she now has some rubber stamp sets too! I'm using the one called FRIENDS.

Seems that anything I try to create lately is taking forever! I've been doing a lot of items for a few craft shows that I'm in so I guess my mind is on other things. Plus Abby has been keeping me busy but we are now done with soccer for a few weeks so that will be a nice break. Of course, we are in the midst of Girl Scout Cookie sales so we trade one thing for another, lol!

Check out gingerbread boy...I added a few details with my white gel pen and then chalked the background. I love his little cheekies...just want to squeeze them!
