A Dotty Celebration

Since our first club project was pretty involved, I made this one super simple. It actually uses two stamp sets that you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration. One is Big Day and the other is Best Day Ever. The dots are achieved by stamping multiple times before re-inking. The sentiment is colored in using Stampin' Write Markers. A little Thick Baker's Twine finishes it off. Super simple and oh so cute. Plus if you change the colors you can have cards ready for those boy birthday's as well!

Thanks for stopping by!

Shake Shake Shake it - A Birthday Shaker Card!

One day I might get it together...Geez. I finally got a planner (long story) and I am now in the process of trying to get all scraps of paper, post-it notes, etc. into the planner. In the process I have forgot some current to-do's one of which is to post on the blog!

How was your weekend? Here - it was snowy and I had to do a cookie booth with my Girl Scout Troop. Not the ideal weather but we do what we have to! Plus we have about 262 packages of cookies and less then two weeks to sell them, lol!

I really wanted to make this one of our projects for Stamp Club in February but I didn't have the "proper" items to make the shaker card. I used what I had and it wasn't easy to do. Plus I didn't have enough supplies for the group the way I did it.

Stampin' Up! makes it easy to make shaker cards since they have 1/8" foam frames with double-sided adhesive. Each package come with 36 frames - 6 of each size (1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 1 3/4"). So I just made a sample and will make a shaker card for another month. Here's a close up of the shaker area.

I was thinking about coloring the window sheet but since there is so much color with the DSP and then the confetti in the shaker circle I opted not to.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Check back on Wednesday when I will give a sneak peak of my upcoming class!

Using Scraps for a Quick Birthday Card!

How can it be Monday already? Geez - I wish the weekends would be just a tad longer!

Today I'm showcasing another card using the stamp set Big Day. I'm not sure you can tell but the card front is embossed with the large dot embossing folder. I then went through my scraps to create this fast and easy card.

In order to get the sentiment to be two colors, I just used my Stampin' Write markers and colored directly on the stamp. I then "huffed" it and stamped on my Very Vanilla Cardstock. I'm digging the red and turquoise color combo (which I pulled from my DSP). Have I mentioned how much I love that everything coordinates with SU! products. Sure does make it easy!

Celebrate Your Big Day!

Happy Saturday to you! Today I'm showing a card made using the stamp set Big Day. It's a FREE stamp set that you can receive when you order $50 in merchandise. It's one of the choices you can pick from during Sale-A-Bration.

On this particular card I saw someone on Pinterest use the Dots Mask and knew I had to do it too. It's so easy and fun and it's such a WOW to see in person. I was going to change the colors but the red, orange and yellow just make me happy :D

Since the sentiment mentions cake I decided to put the cake on the inside corner of the card. I colored the it a little again using the red, orange and yellow color scheme.

We made this card for stamp club this month. It was our technique card. With the masks only being $2.95 (for two) it's well worth the price. The dots mask also has a stripes mask with it. I haven't used it yet but it's on the to do list!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Blooming Birthday - Another Flower Patch Creation!

Do you ever see a card and think "WOW, I want to make that gorgeous card!". Well that's what I did when I saw Sandy Mathis' card. I changed it a little but pretty much stuck to her color scheme and layout. Remember for stamp club we use one stamp set for our projects but then I make up other samples to showcase the stamp set in other ways. This is a sample I had for them to see. I LOVE the layout (which was a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches). I'm not very good at using embossing folders so love how the big dots are used for some texture on the Whisper White cardstock.

This took just a little time since the flower and leaves had to be die-cut but it came together rather quickly. I hope you aren't sick of seeing samples using Flower Patch. I still have more :D It's a VERY useful set and one of my absolute favorites!!

You can purchase the set at my store 24/7 HERE. Thanks for stopping by today!

Masculine Cards with Paper Pumpkin

Have you heard of Paper Pumpkin? It's an awesome box that can arrive to you each month pack full of a wonderful project. Everything is included but scissors and adhesive. It's AWESOME!! I love not know what each month will have in it. Plus I always have left over stuff to create even more items...it's definitely worth it. Especially since it's all for less than $25 a month!

The kit for May came with stamps and ink as well as cards and accessories. I made two birthday cards and two Father's day cards and still had extra banners, tags, twine and accessory pieces left over. Each kit comes with detailed instructions to make the projects - or you can be like me and do what you want. I changed mine up a bit since I knew that hubby would get one of the father's day and one of the birthday cards. Didn't want them to be exactly the same. Also the kit instructions tell you the color palette that is being used - why is that nice? It means I can grab extra cardstock to add to the projects if I want. No guessing involved!

The DSP on the front of the above card was actually a 3x3 card in the kit...I knew I wouldn't use it as a card so I just used the front part. The back part went in the pile of "extras" to use at a later time (or when I get a chance to sit back down again). Each kit is designed for you to complete in 30 minutes...that's easy to find right? And I have to admit I'm always happy after doing my kit. There's something about creating that just puts us in a good mood, right?

It's always nice to have cards made - the Father's Day cards were a hit and now I have two birthday cards ready as well. Feels good to be prepared, lol!

Usually we don't know what is coming in the box each month. But as a demonstrator I'm working on some Paper Paper Goals and was lucky enough to see the kit in a webinar. Let me tell you it is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Can NOT wait to get that box in my mail!! If you aren't a subscriber well sorry but it's too late for you to get the kit for this month BUT I'm sure next month's kit is going to be just as cool so why not join? Plus you can sign up for an ongoing monthly subscription or a prepaid subscription of 3, 6 or 12 months! And the prepaid subscriptions are like ordering from the catalog so you get hostess benefits with a qualifying order!! How cool is that?

Contact me for more details - I'd love to get you started on your own little month of happiness each month! Thanks for stopping by!

Ghirardelli Chocolate Holder

Happy Monday to you! I participated in my first Quarter Mania on Friday and even though the turnout was a little low I still had a great time and met some new people. I'm thinking that the weather scare was the cause for the lower than normal turnout. We were supposed to get 8+ inches of snow as well as some sleet and ice. Luckily we did not get all that. We did get some but mostly it's just bitterly cold!

At Quarter Mania I had a "booth" were I could sell some goodies. Since my husband's birthday was also Friday I decided to make some birthday chocolate treat holders. I think they turned out really cute. Plus they were SUPER EASY to do which is always a plus!

They aren't very big... they hold a Ghirardelli Chocolate. I tucked the ends inside so they weren't hanging out. I used the new Angled Tag Topper Punch and a little twine to hold it together. Those Tag Topper punches have to be my new favorite tool.

After making some birthday ones I decided to do a few generic ones as well. It's a cute little gift to give a co-worker or friend and let them know you are thinking of them.

You can order supplies HERE. Remember for every $50 you spend you get to choose a FREE SALE-A-BRATION item. Have you thought about joining Stampin' Up? Now is a great time...you pay just $99 and get $150 worth of products. Let me know if you want more information. I'd love to have you join my team!

Sweet Mermaid

Happy Tuesday to ya! I'm trying to get back into a routine now that Abby is back in school. It felt good to get into the 'ol studio to do some creating! I'm here today to show you my newest creation using the new digi SWEET MERMAID from Elizabeth at Softpencil Studios.

I had so much fun coloring that purple hair - wish I was brave enough to have purple hair! How fun would that be, lol! I thought the image was perfect for a girls birthday card. I thought I needed a little sparkle so I outlined the stars with my favorite Crystal Stickles. It was just what the card needed.

You can get SWEET MERMAID as well as another image, School Bus over in the Softpencil Studios Shop. Thanks for stopping by!

Softpencil Tuesday - Sunny!

Good morning! I hope this finds you doing well...I'm trying to stay cool. We've had one heck of a HOT summer!! 100+ temperatures for days/weeks straight is starting to wear me out!! Plus I now have gotten some stupid summer cold! Oh well - you know who brightens my day? SUNNY of course!! Elizabeth released 3 new sunny images and I decided to use SUNNY AND A BUTTERFLY.

My Mom's birthday is this week so I made this card for her. I know Sunny will make her smile too! Check out the wonderful samples from the design team (their blogs are on my sidebar) and head on over to Softpencil Studios where you can pick up SUNNY AND A BUTTERFLY plus many other wonderful digital stamps for your collection!

Cheery Wishes

Have a birthday coming up? Well then this new digi, CHEERY WISHES is just perfect for you! How cute is she? And of course change the colors and it will be a perfect boy bear, too! I added a little Crystal Stickles to give it some bling. Since I'm just getting back into crafting after a 2 month hiatus, I decided to do a little sketch searching. I found this cool sketch over at RETRO SKETCHES...
It was fun to cut out my image instead of just having the "normal" square/rectangle/circle/oval shape I always seem to have. I used October Afternoon, Cakewalk paper. Hexagons are all the rage and I picked up a new Die-namic die at my LSS so I could be hip, lol!

You can pick up Cheery Wishes in Mabelle's Whimsy & Stars Studio Store today. While you are there check out her other new digi, Little Princess.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Softpencil Tuesday - Ratiny's Dad

I've been on a little break and decided it was time to come out of hiding by participating in Elizabeth's new digi release...I'd like you to meet Ratiny's Dad. He looks so good with his wonderful mustache!

One of my favorite sketch blogs is Mojo Monday so I decided to use one (#248) from a couple of weeks ago.

I wanted to make the card for my dad so I used blues, greens and a touch of yellow. Since my Dad has always had a mustache I thought it would perfect for him. Some people are so clever with sayings. Me, unfortunately, not so much. I tried doing a Google Search for mustache quotes but didn't get the fun quirky ones I was hoping for. So I just decided to write this...

You can get Ratiny's Dad in Softpencil Studios Shop.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm hoping to get back into crafting. My sister is having her first baby and I've been busy creating things for that as well as a first year album. SO much has been going on with family and I have pictures to share so hopefully later this week I'll get some time to set down and bring you all up to speed :D I have to say I've missed you all...and am looking forward to checking out all the wonderful blogs in blog land!

FBW #198 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

This week at Flutter By Wednesday it's all about the birthday's!! All you have to do is create a NEW birthday creation and include either a butterfly, fairy or angel on it.

I've accumulated quite a few digital images but haven't colored them. I went to a crop a couple weeks ago and spent the entire day coloring...got quite a few digi's colored and this cutie was one of them. It's from StampFairy...aren't they just so cute!?!?!

Seems like I'm always adding a butterfly so this week I changed it up a bit and decided to use a new butterfly embossing folder that I got at my LSS. Even though my paper wasn't white core, I sanded it some. You can't see the distressing but trust me it's there.

I hope you'll join us this week - head over to the FBW Blog for all the details. Be sure to see the wonderful inspiration from the other team members as well - their links are on the right.
