I don't know about you but I always seem to give gift cards of some sort to my sister. Abby's school is selling these money saving cards which are good to local restaurants in Topeka which I think we'll be giving to the mailman and bus driver this year. They are the same size as a gift card so I'll be using this for them as well. I found the tutorial over at the Stamping411 blog. I had to change it up a bit since I wasn't using the same supplies as them.
I used punches rather than dies. Here is a close up of little Rudolph:
I used my Copics to color him. The papers are from the Reece Soar With It Collection and Cardstock. Rudolph is the tab that you pull which holds the gift card.
It's pretty cool gift card holder and you can get 4 of the pockets from one 8&1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock so they are very economical!! Plus by making one of these it shows the recipient that you took the extra time to make a special holder for that gift card!
Next up are a few little goodies that I have on hand to give out - you know to the bell ringer or the cashier or maybe a neighborhood child. Just something little, dressed up to show that you put in a little extra TLC for them.
I used my long scallop Nestabilities die to cut the cardstock. I scored them, punched a hole for the candy cane and then punched two small holes at the top to tie close with ribbon. The part that took the longest was coloring. I used my pencils and OMS to color them in.
