A First For Me!!

I know I haven't posted much but I'm trying to work my way back into crafting. It felt overwhelming and honestly, not too fun. Part of the problem is I felt all my creations were the same...nothing new and well a little boring. That brings me to today's challenge for Flutter By Wednesdays - it's WHITE ON WHITE. The only color on the card can be from your main image and don't forget you must include a BUTTERFLY, FAIRY OR ANGEL. This is a challenge that I normally would shy away from...maybe not do much. Well not this time - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card!!

I think it helps when you have an adorable image to color. I print out digi's and keep them in a folder in hopes that when I have some time or need to relax I can pull out the folder and start coloring. What I've realized is I haven't done that nor have I used them.

Hello HedgieHugg by Tiddly Inks. Can you say CA-UTE?!?! But wait there's more...check out the whole card...

See what did I tell ya, AWESOME, right? I was so scared about just having a white card but after last week I decided I liked the textured look. So I added as much texture, in white of course, as I could. I used two different embossing folders (one for the background and one for the butterflies). I added sheer ribbon, pearls and a doilies for even more texture.

So whatcha think? I hope you will give this challenge a try. It's really a lot of fun! Stop by the FBW blog to link your NEW creation so we can all take a look. Remember to visit the other team members blogs to see what they came up with. Also, let's send out safe travel vibes to Danni and her family as they make their big move to Washington.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CASEd Card for FBW - Open Challenge

The challenge this week is a favorite - OPEN...anything goes as long as you include a butterfly, angel or fairy on your creation. I am trying to find inspiration - so been flipping through my magazines, checking out blogs and such looking for anything to spark a little creativity in me. I found a card that Dawn McVey did in a Papercrafts Magazine that caught my eye so I used it for my FBW creation.
First off, I'm not too good leaving white space but it's something that I like. I wasn't too thrilled with the plain white so I dry embossed it to give it a little texture. It's a fairly simple card yet it seemed to take me a while to determine the color combo. I used an old ColourQ Challenge for it.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today. Be sure to stop by the FBW blog and link your card so we can all take a look. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Flutter By Wednesday #137 - Sketch by Carly!

WOW - thank you to everyone who fluttered with us last week for our blog hop! There were so many fabulous entries - loved looking at all of them! This week we have a new sketch artist joining us - Carly. So here is Carly's wonderful sketch for us to use:
Remember to include butterflies, fairies or angels on your creation and it should be a NEW creation as well. I am patiently waiting for some LOTV stamps to arrive so I decided to use some of my old ones. Funny thing is I haven't used the old ones at all so they are actually new to me too, lol!

Aren't those bunnies too cute? I colored one using T2 and the other using E55 along with my Colorless Blender. Love the way they turned out!

I love how Carly included everything we need to make the perfect card - flowers, butterflies and a sentiment!

So what do you think? What are you working on right now? Me, I'm all about Valentine's - loving all the pinks and reds. Brightens my mood with all this snow on the ground! I hope you will join us this week and play along. Just visit the FBW Blog for more details!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fluttering into 2011 with a HOP!

Whew it's great to be back! Welcome to our first Flutter By Wednesday Challenge of 2011!! To celebrate, we are having a blog hop! You should be arriving from the blog of one of our newest team members and fabulously talented, ANNA. If not, please go to the FBW Blog and start from the beginning...you won't want to MISS ANYTHING!!

The challenge is one of my favorites and I'm sure yours too...OPEN - anything goes as long as there is a butterfly, angel or fairy on it. For my creation, I'm trying to use some of my "old" things. I have TONS of digi's that I've either purchased or received as a freebie from all these wonderful artists out there and I haven't been using them. So I dug in my stash and found this little cutie from Pollycraft.

I used an old Friday Sketchers sketch for inspiration. I wanted to make the card shimmer and shine - plus according to my great friend, Danni you can NEVER have TOO much!

So nice to be creating a non Christmas card. I haven't created anything in quite a while. I'm slowly trying to find some inspiration to kick my mojo into gear. Honestly, I think what I'm craving is scrapbooking...creating pages again and documenting memories. I've ordered some pictures and they should be here soon so we'll see if that helps :D

I hope you've enjoyed my creation today. I'm also entering this into the Cute Card Thursday challenge #145 - create a thank you card. Now continue fluttering along the hop to Nancy's blog to see what she has in store for you today. Remember if you get lost just hop on over to the FBW blog where you'll see the complete hop list. I also want to welcome our new DT members - Anna, Jennie and Peggy to the team! I look forward to getting to working with these wonderful ladies!

Thanks for stopping by today! Just a little FYI that my posts may be a little scarce this week...We are taking a break at Softpencil for the month of January. Plus I go back to work today and was lucky enough to catch a nice stomach bug on Monday evening so I've been doing a lot of laying around. So I'm trying to play catch up on a few things...see ya soon though!
