Flower Patch Awesomeness

Today I'm sharing a card using one of my favorite sets from the new catalog called Flower Patch. I found so many awesome samples on Pinterest using this set. Ilina Crouse made the most beautiful card and I had to try and duplicate it.

This card involves the technique masking. I will say that my first go around did NOT turn out great...so let me offer you a few tips. Normally when I do the masking technique I use post it notes. You can get them at the dollar store (cheap) and they have a sticky back - perfect for the masking technique. However post it notes were NOT what should be used for this card. Since we are double stamping quite a bit of ink is being used. The other thing is my ink pads were nice and juicy which means even more ink. As you can see below the ink bled through the post its.

Well I was disappointed to say the least but I tried again. This time I used cardstock. The cardstock is thick so when I did stamp I had to make sure that I really pressed down where the mask was. When I was done with the card, I put my cardstock masks in the stamp case so next time I go to create I will have them.

Fry Box Gifts

Have you heard of a guy named Brian King? Well he's pretty much a Rock Star! I found his blog through a blog hop. For the hop he did this AWESOME project that I instantly fell in love with. These are little gifts that I made for my hostesses and to give away as a door prize at my quarter mania event tonight.

Each kit has some cardstock, Flashback DSP, sentiments, ribbon and 3x3 envelopes. Not everything fit into the Fry Box liked I hope but I think they turned out pretty cute once I put them in cellophane bags and tied with with some ribbon. The colors are so happy and fun! I have two favorite paper sets and Flashback is one of them.

I spent an afternoon making a bunch up but then realized that some people like to get things already made. So I made some kits of pre-made 3x3 cards and envelopes. I used the same supplies that are in the fry box kit.

I think they turned out really cute. And it's nice to have some gifts ready to go. It seems I'm always behind so it's kind of nice to be a little ahead right now.

Hope you enjoy and if you are free tonight come on out to my quarter mania event. You can find details on my Facebook Page (which you can subscribe to by clicking the icon at the top right of this page). Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Happy Flowers for Stamp Club

Last night kicked off my new Stamp Club group. Stamp Club is a way for you to get all the wonderful products from your wish list a little bit at a time. I always have so much fun with these ladies! This month, we used the Flower Patch Stamp Set for our two projects. I'm sharing one of them with you today.

This card was simply just two (and in some cases) three step stamping. Since the set is a Photopolymer stamp set it makes it very easy to stamp on top of each image. You can see exactly where you are stamping! I wanted to add a little something to the flower centers. I cut some Gold Sequin Trim and then double knotted some Whisper White Bakers Twine and glued them to the centers using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I really like how it turned out.

I continued the color scheme on the inside as well. Who would have thought that Pumpkin Pie and Blushing Bride would have looked so good :D
