Halloween Celebration

On Tuesday, Abby had her Halloween Celebration at Preschool. The celebration consisted of the kids wearing their costumes to school and putting on a musical performance. For some reason my camera isn't doing so hot...good thing Christmas is coming cause I think I'm in need of a new one! This is Abby on stage waving to me...she likes attention and she wanted to make sure I knew where she was!

After the "concert" was over, the kids got to parade through the gym so everyone could ohhh & ahhh over their costumes. When I stopped Abby to take a picture this is the pose she gave me. It's her princess pose!

The kids then were dismissed for treats and individual pictures. I took this picture of Abby and her wonderful teacher, Mrs. Christian.

Abby doesn't have school the rest of the week. Wednesday is teacher day and Thursday & Friday is parent/teacher conference. I can't wait to see what Mrs. Christian has to tell me about Abby. Hopefully she's doing as good as I think she is, LOL!

Gift Cards

Fellow Angel, Diana Maldonado, shared this little project she made using GWP (gift with purchase) boxes. She made small note cards to fit in the box. When I saw them I just had to try them! I think they would make neat little goodies and nice to have on hand. Below are my versions.

This shows the box with the gift cards in them. Each box contains 3 cards. I just wrapped some pattern paper around the box along with some ribbon & tied ribbon at the top of the box to decorate it. I used Miss Moxie SWIC, Cardstock and Ribbon, Scrapper's Floss and Making Memories Buttons & Flowers.

This shows the cards. Each card is the same. The cards are the perfect size to accommodate that special gift for friends and family. After I finished these birthday cards, I realized that I use gift cards the most around Christmas. So I made a few more.

This one is a winter theme. On the inside of the card I stamped holiday greetings. Wouldn't this be perfect to go with those homemade gifts of hot coco mix! On this one I used Winchester Cardstock and Ribbons. I stamped the card with snowflakes using Staz-on and colored in the snowman using Prismacolor pencils and OMS.

This one is my Christmas tag version. On the inside of each of these I stamped To: and From: . I used the Willoughby SWIC and Cardstock on this one along with some punches, Scrapper's Floss and buttons.

I have a FUNShop coming up this Sunday and I can't wait to show these off. They came together really fast, look darn good and use mostly scrap pieces of paper. I want to give these to some of my friends....you want one???

Thanks for looking!

I am a TAC Demonstrator so feel free to contact me if you'd like to purchase any of the supplies used. I also sell my creations so if you are interested in purchasing anything from my blog, just contact me!

CAC Sketch

I was fortunate to be accepted as part of the sketch team on Create-A-Card Club. It's a Yahoo group I belong to. Every week I'm given a sketch and am supposed to come up with a card. I'm excited about being a part of the team because it will ensure that I continue to make cards and it uses sketches which I love!

Sometimes it seems like I only use TAC products but I own A LOT of stuff! I mean I worked at a scrapbook store for 3 years so I've accumulated just a few sheets of paper, LOL! Since the group I'm doing this for is not TAC related, I'm able to use those other supplies which is great as well.

Thanks for looking! As always I love comments so feel free to leave me some on what you think of the card!

Supplies: Junkitz paper, Prima Flowers, SU! Cardstock, Technique Tuesday & Stampendous Stamps, Fiskars Border Punch

Cute Spiders?!

I know I know what's up with that title? But seriously have you seen a spider as cute as this?

It's cute, right? These little babies have been everywhere. I know I've seen them on a couple of blogs and they have been on Splitcoast as well. I first saw them here though and just knew that I had to try them.

They come together quite quickly after you get everything punched. I figured I'd make as many as one bag of peppermint patties had which happens to be about 42 of them! I used punches & diecuts and scrap paper. YIPPPEEE for me, no spending and actually using what I have!! Gotta love it!

This weekend was pretty productive for me. I worked on the spiders, planned out some Christmas projects and I made another lollipop holder for an order I had received. I hope you had a good weekend too! Thanks for looking!

Supplies: Quickutz Photo Corner Die (legs) & Flower Die (nose), EK Success scallop circle punch (body), Circle Punches (eyes)

Random Mail Stamp Challenge

Remember this entry here? Well check out Seleise's blog to see what she did with the image that I sent her. I'm so glad she agreed to play and I can't wait to see who is next!

House Pictures - Basement Area

Well as promised here are some more house pictures this time of our basement. The first picture is of our family room. Realize that we are in the basement area a lot! The desk you see is Abby's art station. Then there is my hubby's guitars. The doorway on the left leads into my scrapbook room which if you've already seen pictures of.

When you come down the stairs, just around the corner is our computer/office area. It's nice having the computer in a central location but I'd love to get a laptop so I can have it in my scrapbook room to use. From the picture you can see I'm here quite a bit.

When you come down the stairs and turn to your right you'd have the playroom on your left and the computer area on your right.

We also have a bathroom and a portion of the basement that is unfinished (that door is beside Jay's guitars). The basement is really big and was a big selling point for us!

I should have some projects finished this weekend and will hopefully post those next. Thanks so much for looking at my blog. I hope you enjoy it! Leave me comments as I love to hear from you!

House Pictures - Kitchen area

Happy Friday! I've been working on projects but haven't completely finished any of them to share. I've had a few of you ask for more House pictures so here they are! The following pictures are of the kitchen/dining room. I have to tell you that after living in apartments for 15+ years, one of the things I really wanted was a big kitchen. Well I got my wish and I LOVE my kitchen! I took this picture standing in the kitchen. It's our dining room.

My Dining room table is a garage sale find. My hubby and dad refinished it for me...It's awesome! It also came with a huge leaf and 2 more chairs. Can't wait to host some holiday dinners this year cause we've got the room!

This is part of the kitchen. I took this picture while standing in the dining room area.

This is the second part of the kitchen. We looked at quite a few houses and one of the things I also wanted was a kitchen window. Why? No idea! I know growing up though both of our houses had a kitchen window in it. I remember my mom watching me outside playing through the window. My window looks out to the side of the house and yes, I see my neighbor through it more than anything but it's a window and it's light! One of the things we did to the kitchen is added lights under the kitchen cabinets. They look nice and provide a lot of light when I'm working on the kitchen counters. We are still wanting to get two bar stools to put at the end of the counter (it's the area where the small pumpkin is).

Hope you enjoy the pictures. I'll have some more tomorrow as I finally got the entire basement cleaned and organized! Thanks for looking!

Oz-some Sketch

Last night at about 9pm my hubby asks me if I have a card for one of the girls in his office who just closed on their first house. I said no and he acted like I was crazy. I mean I don't have cards dealing with house buying just laying around! Birthdays yes, New houses no! Anyway, I told him I'd make one and decided to use Heather's Monday Sketch to make the card.

I added some ribbon (it's one of those embellishments that I use on just about every card!). I used the Willoughby SWIC collection from The Angel Company. I think the colors are very warming and just perfect for a "home" card! I wasn't sure where I was going to put the sentiment so I put that on the inside and used some more of the Willoughby SWIC at the top. It reminds me of a window treatment!

For some reason I seem to be adding more to my to-do list than I'm crossing off! That's not good! I have a couple up coming FUNShops! plus I'm trying to get some Christmas stuff completed in order to maybe have a class or sell kits. Things like cookie calendars, wall decorations, holiday planners, etc. It's hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner!

Here's hoping I get a lot finished today...wish me luck!

All Supplies are from The Angel Company: Willoughby SWIC & Cardstock, Welcome Home & Trendy Greetings Stamp Sets.

Christmas Card

Happy Monday! Last night I finished up a few cards that I needed to do for a swap in one of my yahoo groups and decided that I liked it so much I needed to make some extras.

I think my pictures look really good and then I get them here and I think ugghhhh but I promise you it's a good looking card! My friend Danni has been showing how she stamps the inside of the card as well as the envelope. I decide to continue the swirls on the inside of the card. I really liked how it turned out. Thanks for the tip, Danni!

Thanks so much for looking! Hope you enjoy :)

Supplies used: Bazzill Cardstock, Scrapworks pattern paper, Winter Tags & Snowy Swirls Stamp set from The Angel Company, Stampendous sentiment set, Prismacolor pencils and OMS.

Treat Bags & Artwork

I've seen tons of Frankenstein treat bags in the blogging world and thought they were so cute. I decided that I wanted to do something for Abby's preschool class but knew that I wanted to use only what I had on hand. I didn't want to purchase anything to make them. Here is what I came up with.

I used green lunch sacks (5 for $1.oo at Wal-mart) and everything else is scrap paper using my punches, scissors or Quickutz Die. I pretty proud of myself! I mean these are pretty cute (the 5 year olds will think so anyway, lol!) and I didn't spend but 20 cents on each one!! The sacks are filled with treats, tattoos and spider rings. On the back I decorated pixie sticks and tied them onto the bag.
Now if anyone knows me I have a bad habit of starting something and not being able to do anything else until I finish it! It totally consumes me! Well I just had to finish these bags once I started them so even though Abby helped punch out parts, I went ahead and finished them after she went to bed. I mean I needed to accomplish something today! Well Abby wasn't mad but she did decide that she needed to make her own Frankensteins. She was so excited to "surprise" me with her creations. So without further ado here is my little artists work...

She did this on her own! I think she did a GREAT job! I told her I was going to take a picture of them and put them on the blog for everyone to see. She was so happy and screamed "the whole world is going to see them!!" I didn't have the heart to tell her that probably only about 10 people would, LOL!

Happy Sunday and thanks for looking!

Random Mail Stamp Challenge & Mojo Monday

My friend, Danni contacted me to see if I would participate in the Random Mail Stamp Challenge. This challenge was started by Barb Foster. Check out her blog to see all who have played so far! I was ready for a challenge so I told Danni to bring it on! I was so excited when I received the cute girlfriends image in the mail. I just love the DCWV glitter paper and knew that I wanted to use that. I wasn't sure how I wanted to "assemble" the card though, so I decided to use Julee's sketch from week #56 . I just loved the sketch! I did have to change the sketch a bit in order for the images & the paper I had chosen to work so I hope that's ok. If you haven't seen Julee's blog, check it out! There are TONS of sketches and her cards are AWESOME!

Isn't it just the cutest? I mean what girlfriend of mine wouldn't love to see this little baby in her mailbox?!?! I think I need some more images like this - HINT, HINT! ;o)

Thanks for looking! Stay tuned to see who will be participating in the random mail stamp challenge next...

Abby's Room

I said that I'd show pictures of Abby's room and here they are. Remember my daughter LOVES butterflies plus since we've lived in an apt. for so long we told her that she could pick the color of her room. We thought she'd pick one color...

but no she picked 3! And I'm sorry for the pictures but the colors are in the bedspread and do match, I promise! I foam stamped all the butterflies in the purple border and it goes completely around the room. It's a very bright cheery room perfect for my little girl.

The furniture used to be my grandma's and I held on to it as I just couldn't get rid of it. My husband painted it and it's beautiful! Yes, she has a tv and dvd player (thanks to grandma & papa) but NO cable. I mean she is only 5!! Not sure if you can see it but there are butterfly lights around the mirror that she uses as her light to fall asleep.

Thanks for looking!

Picture Day

Last Friday was picture day at Abby's school. I never know what to dress her in for picture day! My fashion sense isn't great. My hubby teases me and says that those TLC shows about fashion would have a hay day with me. He's right about me but when it comes to Abby I do a pretty good job at making sure she's a cutie :) This year Abby told me what she was going to wear so it made it easier! Everything is about princesses so dresses and skirts are a must right now!

If her school pictures turn out anything like these, I think we'll be just fine!

Thanks for looking!

I'm back!

Oh it feels good to be blogging again! I didn't mean for it to be so long between posts but I participated in a 15 hour crop this weekend and when I tried to use the computer the next day it was having ISSUES! When the computer finally worked I had trouble with blogger so I guess it just wasn't meant to be for awhile!

Both the crops that I participated went really well. I had a great time and enjoyed meeting so many people! I have a couple of FUNShops! scheduled for November and am excited to meet even more people. I definitely hope to do both crops again and now I know what to expect so that will make it even better!

Unfortunately I haven't had much time to create. But I did find a little time to shop! My husband called me Friday and told me that he went to this little antique shop near my parents house and he found a hutch that he thought would be perfect for our dining room. He asked me to stop by and take a look and if I liked it to buy it. OKAY, I can so do that! Well needless to say this little shop had some really cute things that would be perfect for my scrapbook room! I'm not going to lie, my husband just doesn't get it. When he saw what I purchased he was like "why?". My response is why ask why?! I don't care what it's for I WILL find a use for it! Did we get the hutch? YES plus these little finds...

an awesome jar for my ribbon scraps! They were in Ziploc baggies and this looks oh so much better :)

and this little baby! I instantly thought of Mish who always has an inspiration station. Well I didn't have one and yes, this one is a little small but it looks so good in my room on my desk. I actually used it this weekend at the crop to hold ribbon & eyelet packages and Scrappers Floss. Now it's on my desk completely empty! I think I'm going to put some Christmas embellishments in it as that is what I need to be working on at this moment.

Thanks for looking!

RAK

I received this beautiful card in the mail from my friend Danni. It is so pretty and the scan does NOT do it justice at all! Inside was a stamped image that I need to create something with. It's part of a Random Mail Stamp Challenge. Look for my creation and more information in a couple of days! In the meantime, THANKS Danni!

Bird Card

Good Afternoon! It's a rainy, cold day here just perfect for staying inside and creating! I made this card with supplies I had left over from my crop Saturday. This is a fun sketch and you can get many different looks with it. Instead of a flower you could put a button, a bow, a large brad, etc. And just by changing the colors you get a whole different feel! The possibilities are endless!

Here are a couple of neat things about this card. The indentation on the white card (with the bird) was done with a circle punch. The notches on the side (where the scrappers floss is wrapped) is done with a square scallop punch. I have A LOT of punches (just ask my friend Ellen, LOL) and I'm always trying to find ways to use them on my projects. I mean I need to get my moneys worth, right?!?! Let me know what you think and thanks for looking! I hope you can fit in a little creative play time today!

All supplies from The Angel Company: Miss Moxie SWIC, Fall Harvest and Build A Flower Stamp set, Scrappers Floss, Paper Posies, Circle Punch, Square Scallop Punch.

Relaxing Sunday

Yesterday was such a beautiful day here. We spent most of the day doing some yard work and decorating for Halloween. For those of you wanting house pictures, here is a picture of the front of my house. Forgive the bad erase job. I don't know how to blur stuff - and sorry but I don't think I should give away all my information (like house number and license plate numbers). Anyway back to the house. We don't have much landscaping but that will come in due time. Right now we are enjoying the fall - nice days with cool nights. Concentrating on making this our HOME :)

Abby and I painted these stakes and stuck wooden Halloween images on them. Then we strung some purple lights through them. We also put the pumpkin picture in the windows. As I sat outside looking at the front of the house, I kept trying to figure out what other decorations we needed...yep, PUMPKINS! Guess we need to make a trip to the pumpkin patch!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Crops

October is going to be busy and exciting for me. I have the opportunity to participate in TWO crops. The first one is this weekend and I'm excited yet nervous. I've only lived here for two months and know no one. I'm hoping to meet people that enjoy what I do and get to hang out. It's always fun to find others who share my passion for this craft! I will be having a vendor booth where I'll have some inventory on hand as well as displays, samples and a make n take. Since Saturday is World Cardmaking Day I figured we better do a card. And since it's October it should be Halloween. So here is the card we'll be doing.

I was trying to figure out a way to easily color the images and decided to use my chalks and blender pen. The chalk I used actually has a shimmer to it but it's difficult to see in the picture.
The crop is to support a local school and is only $25 for 12 hours of cropping time. You also get goodie bags, prize drawings, lunch and drinks and snack throughout the day. I think that's a great deal! Even if you can't crop you can come shop. $1 gets you through the door! If you want more information, just let me know!

It's been awhile...

since I've scrapbooked that is. I have so many pictures to scrapbook and well for the last couple of years I've really been focused on card making. I used to be only a 12x12 scrapbooker but with all the neat mini book projects & other alterable items out there I'm willing to change it up a bit. I also now feel that I don't have to scrapbook every photo! This may be due to the fact that I have about 3 photo boxes FULL of Abby pictures and she just turned 5!! With that said, I made an 8x8 page tonight. I really love this picture of Abby...it shows how much fun she was having at her preschool party and her smile just makes me smile. It's not much but it's a page...and I even stamped on it. That's a big deal for me since I usually just stamp on my cards. Baby steps folks!

I'm going to add red stickles to the wreath but forgot to do that before sharing. Also, hopefully when I get a little more organized I'll start taking pictures of my work rather than scans. Sometimes I just don't think the scanner does our creations justice. Thanks for looking!

SOTM

I'm pleased to announce that I'm one of the October Designers for the Stamp of the Month at The Angel Company. Silly me, forgot to take pictures of all my samples before I sent them though! But you can see them here . I did a couple of cards, a decor piece and a gift set. My favorite thing is the Hello Fall Frame. I got the idea from the quilting stamp set by PaperTrey Ink. I also really like Penelope SWIC from The Angel Company. Take a look at let me know what you think!
