FBW #200 - Farewell to Flutter By!

Today is a hard one, folks! I mean how do you say good bye that has been a part of your life for so long (I'm talking YEARS!). Today is FBW's 200th challenge...but it's also our last!

To honor the occasion we have a wonderful sketch by former team member Jen to use:

I know we can use fairies and angels but for the last flutter by I just had to use butterflies...and LOTS of them!!

I didn't have the small die jar from PTI so I just cut some off and made my own. You can't really tell but I put acetate over the jar to give it more of a glassy feel. I didn't add any sparkle (I know?!?! What was I thinking???) but will go back and definitely add that to the butterflies.

Thank you to Danni and the team members for a wonderful design team and challenge blog. So many opportunities and things have happened to be because of it and the support I've received. Thank you to ALL that have joined us in playing along - you have made FBW so successful and something that we will all treasure!

I hope that you'll still stop by to visit as I'll still be creating...keep fluttering friends!

FBW #199 - Going Back to the Beginning!

Happy Wednesday to you! Thanks for joining me today for another Flutter By Wednesday. We've got a fun challenge this week. Since we are approaching the 200th challenge we are going back to the beginning. We are CASEing Danni's VERY FIRST FLUTTER BY CARD! Check it out:

When I looked at this card, I saw the gorgeous butterfly and the color blue. I knew that the butterfly had to be the focal point. I went looking for a sketch and found this one from Taylored Expressions:

Then I grabbed a new stamp that I got from CTMH and went to town. I used a Kaleidacolor pad in different shades of blue and made a monochromatic card.

I hope you'll join us this week. Remember the challenge is to CASE Danni's card and remember to use a butterfly, fairy or angel on it. Go check out all the details on the Flutter By Wednesday Blog.

I also have some sad news...next week will be FBW's 200th challenge and it will also be our last one. I know this was a difficult choice for Danni as this is her baby. We are very thankful for all Danni has done for us and I will be forever grateful for being a part of this wonderful team!

Thanks for stopping by!

FBW #198 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

This week at Flutter By Wednesday it's all about the birthday's!! All you have to do is create a NEW birthday creation and include either a butterfly, fairy or angel on it.

I've accumulated quite a few digital images but haven't colored them. I went to a crop a couple weeks ago and spent the entire day coloring...got quite a few digi's colored and this cutie was one of them. It's from StampFairy...aren't they just so cute!?!?!

Seems like I'm always adding a butterfly so this week I changed it up a bit and decided to use a new butterfly embossing folder that I got at my LSS. Even though my paper wasn't white core, I sanded it some. You can't see the distressing but trust me it's there.

I hope you'll join us this week - head over to the FBW Blog for all the details. Be sure to see the wonderful inspiration from the other team members as well - their links are on the right.

Thanks for stopping by!

FBW #197 Sponsored by Sparkle Creations!

Yes, I'm quite aware that it is Friday evening and I'm just posting my Flutter By Wednesday card. Have you ever had one of those weeks where you are a day late and a dollar short? Well it was definitely one of those weeks for me - add three days of migraine pain to that and it, well sucked! Today we had some sunshine and my headache finally went away...However, it feels like it's just waiting to reappear so I quickly went to my room and finished three cards.

The challenge this week is an OPEN one - ANYTHING GOES AS LONG AS YOU INCLUDE A BUTTERFLY, FAIRY or ANGEL ON YOUR NEW CREATION! Plus Sparkle has donated two prizes so you'll definitely want to play!

I grabbed Farming Oliver to make my card:

Head over to the Flutter By Wednesday Blog for all the details. I hope you'll join us. Thanks for stopping by!

FBW #196 - Thinking of You

This week at Flutter By Wednesday we are having a card drive for BUTTERFLY KISSES. You can see all the details over on the Flutter By Wednesday Blog.

The challenge is to make a thinking of you/get well/keep fighting card. Make sure you include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your NEW creation!

I went for a CAS layout...no pattern paper this week and no coloring! Felt good, too!
The weather has been wonderful the last few days...I've been soaking up the sun, enjoying family time and reading books. Crafting hasn't been coming to me lately. I'm in a little funk...trying other things to see if my creativity returns. Honestly, I'm ready to get scrappin again but not sure where to start. I mean I have the photos and supplies but it's been FORever since I've done a layout. Lots going on right now, too. In a couple months I'll be turning the big 40...I think I'm trying to reevaluate a few things. You know a milestone birthday can do that, lol! Anyway, I guess I'm rambling...just was mentioned why there aren't a lot of posts from me I guess.

Thanks for stopping by!

FBW #195 - For Somebunny Special!

Good Morning! Welcome to another week at Flutter By Wednesday! This week is every one's favorite - OPEN! ANYTHING GOES AS LONG AS YOUR CREATION IS NEW AND INCLUDES A BUTTERFLY, FAIRY or ANGEL ON IT.

I've seemed to be collecting digi stamps so I decided to use one. This is one of Tiddly Inks new Wryn images. It's called Somebunny Loves You. I think she is so cute...makes me think of my Abby.

I used the March 2012 SFYTT for my card (it's a wonderful sketch that I'm sure I'll use again!)

I wanted the image to stand out so I didn't use really bold patterns. I did add a few extra embellishments though as it was difficult for me not to have ribbon and such on my card.

So whatcha think? I hope you'll join us at FBW this week...head over to the blog for all the details on how you can join us. I also have some sad news. There are a few team members that are leaving us - Mary and Kristie we wish you the best of luck and hope to see you fluttering with us when you can!

We are on Spring Break this week so I've been having some serious family time. Yesterday we saw The Lorax (very cute movie), went bowling, shopping and out to eat. It was a very full day! The weather has been nice but this week wouldn't you know that it's been raining constantly! We are pretty sick of it and am crossing our fingers we get a little sunshine soon! I do have to say that everything is turning green and blooming so Spring is definitely here!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!!

FBW #194 - For The Kids

This week at Flutter By Wednesday we are doing a special card drive for Send A Smile 4 Kids. That means that we want to see those cards for KIDS! Remember you must include a butterfly, fairy or angel on it to be a part of the FBW Challenge. To see all the details about Send A Smile 4 Kids and their requirements, check the FBW blog.

I seem to always do girly stuff so I really wanted to use my boy stamps. I looked through my stamp book and came across this set, Rolling By. It was fun pulling blues, greens and oranges instead of pinks and purples.

I had this "plan" and was so freakin' stoked to do the card and then realized I needed a fairy, butterfly or angel. Well that's easy for me on a girly card...not so much on a boy card. I decided to add little butterflies since the boy would be zooming by and they'd be fluttering out of the way, lol.

Last week I welcomed Peggy back...but really it should have been done this week. So welcome (again) Peggy!! Glad you're back on the team!

I hope you'll decide to join us at make some child happy. There are so many out there that could use a smile! Just head over to the FBW blog for all the details! Thanks for stopping by!

This week we are being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish. I decided to work with Babette The Bunny for my creation. The challenge is to make a NEW creation with a SPRING THEME and remember to include your butterfly, fairy or angel on it!

My card design comes from Carly's Sketch (#51) and I used my new Doodlebug Hello Spring 6x6 paper pad which just SCREAMS Spring to me! I like the happy colors and am ready to see some GREEN around here!

We've got a few changes on the FBW team...first, Peggy is joining us again (welcome back!). Sadly, Amanda is leaving us and this will be her last week with us. We'll miss you, Amanda and hope to see you fluttering with us again!

FBW #192 & Feb 2012 SFYTT

Good Morning! We had some crazy weather last night so I was unable to get my post up. I couldn't believe that we had thunderstorms and tornadoes in FEBRUARY! Crazy!! I'm thinking that the snow is not going to be happening for us this year...seems it has skipped right over us. It feels a lot more like Spring now.

This week at Flutter By Wednesday we are sponsored by Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. She generously gave the DT exclusive stamps only available at her store. I was lucky to get FRIENDSHIP TIES...such a cute image!

I also wanted to make sure that I used the February 2012 SFYTT sketch since it's the last day to participate for this month (thank goodness for Leap Year, lol!)

I used my new Echo Park This & That paper - it was perfect! I just adore this image. I guess I should mention that the challenge this week is an OPEN one - anything goes as long as it's NEW and you include a butterfly, fairy or angel on it. Be sure to link your creation over on the FBW blog so you'll be eligible for the great prize that Susana has donated this week!

Thanks for stopping by - and enjoy your extra day...HAPPY LEAP YEAR!

FBW #191 - Photo Inspiration

Hello Blogging Friends! Have you ever had those weeks/days/months years when everything and anything goes wrong. I didn't even know what day it was! Abby was out of school for 5 days and my schedule is all out of whack....add in hubby throwing some stuff at me and well it's been one heck of a week!

I'm just excited that I actually got an opportunity to use the computer so I could post this (after I remembered it was Wednesday, lol). So this week at Flutter By Wednesday we have a photo inspiration challenge. Interpret it anyway you want but remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on it.

Such a pretty picture. When I looked at it I saw PINK, FLOWERS and BUTTERFLIES. So I decided to use one of Mabelle's new digi's, Teddy's Flower. You can see all the new digi's on the Whimsy & Stars Studio Blog.

I colored using my pencils and OMS - been a long time since I've used them. Seems like I'm always grabbing for my Copics.

Thank you to all who joined us last week. Remember that was a special week - this week you need to have a butterfly, fairy or angel to participate. Stop on over to the Flutter By Wednesday Blog for all the details and to check out all the wonderful inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

FBW #190 - Winged Things

We've got a special challenge for you this week at Flutter By Wednesday - your creation should be NEW and have ANYTHING WITH WINGS!!! That's right, for this week only your creation doesn't have to have a butterfly, fairy or angel. Just something with wings.

I decided to color up an image from Mo Manning called Wonderful Day. I LOVE hummingbirds and was excited to share a creation this week with something other than my normal butterflies, fairies or angels.
I used a sketch from CPS. They have a lot of them to celebrate their anniversary. I went with Day 5 which you can see here.

Thanks for stopping by!!

FBW #189 - LOVE Recipe Featuring Poppy the Circus Girl!

Oh my have you seen these adorable digis over at Saturated Canary? They are so so cute!! She recently had a sale and I had to pick up a few (ok QUITE a few, lol) for my ever growing digi collection.
This little cutie is Poppy the Circus Girl, A Ragamuffin. I love her outfit and her little "friend". I decided to use her for this week's challenge over at Flutter By Wednesday.

It's a LOVE challenge -
L - two or more layers
O - have an ODD number of embellishments
V - have the color violet on your creation
E - you can use any color EXCEPT red
PLUS REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR BUTTERFLY, FAIRY or ANGEL on your creation!

I just got one of the PTI Think Big Favorites and I must say they are DE.lish - love them! I will definitely be putting more on my wish list! I used The Deconstructed Sketch #37 for my layout - it was perfect for Miss Poppy!
My embellishments are 2 flowers, 2 butterflies and 1 bow for a total of 5 which is an odd number. Although it may look like I used red, I did not. EVERYTHING is pink! The paper is by MME called Lime Twist.

So whatcha think? I hope you'll join us at FBW this week and play along with our LOVE challenge. Head over to the blog for all the details! Don't forget to check out more inspiration from the DT - their links are on my sidebar!

Getting Embossing at Flutter By Wednesday

This week we have a fun challenge for you! It's time to do a little embossing (any kind). Remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel in your NEW creation!

I decided to do a card with hardly any stamping. I was inspired at Michael's in their Valentine section by the paint I saw - that's where my color combo comes from. It's such a bright happy card - perfect to send in February!

I found another card on Pinterest and knew I wanted to try it out for Flutter By Wednesday. You can see the original creation HERE.

I hope you'll join us at FBW - visit the blog for all the details. Thanks for stopping by!

FBW #186 - Birthday Blessings

WOW there were some fantastic creations last week in our bright challenge. Thanks for playing along. This week it's an OPEN challenge - ANYTHING GOES AS LONG AS YOU INCLUDE A BUTTERFLY, FAIRY or ANGEL.

I saw the Mojo Monday sketch (here) and this card from Denise (here) so I decided to base my card on them. I used the new Echo Park Yours Truly Paper pad for my card.

Love double sided paper and 6x6 pads - they make coordinating super simple! I finished off the card my continuing the theme on the inside too.

Visit the Flutter By Wednesday blog to enter your creation. Need some inspiration, be sure to visit the other DT's blogs...I always look forward to seeing what they come up with. Such a fabulous team!

FBW #185 - BRIGHT Colors

Happy Wednesday to you! I'm back with a card for Flutter By Wednesday. We have a fun challenge...it's time to get rid of the winter blues by using BRIGHT COLORS - along with a butterfly, fairy or angel.

I must say here in Kansas we haven't seen much of the Winter weather yet. I mean the temperatures have been in the 50's and we still haven't seen any snow! I'm sure now since I've said that we'll get some, lol!

For my card I totally CASED it...I have been trying to organize my room and start fresh. So I was focusing my "extra" time (what little it is) to that. Therefore, I wanted something quick and pretty so I turned to Pinterest. Yes, I'm an avid Pinner...totally LOVE it! Want to follow me or see my boards...go here.

The card I pinned was this:

So using my supplies I came up with this card:

I just got a new die to make that awesome flower...plus my sister and mom got me a ton of wool felt so I had to use it!! Totally LOVE this card and I know that it will definitely cheer someone up!

I hope you will join us and play along. Grab those bright colors and a fairy, butterfly or angel and show us your creation! You can find all the details on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Fluttering a little late this week...

I'm sorry to say that I will be a little late in sharing my FBW creation. Mommy duty has taken up a lot of time and I haven't been able to do much else.

The challenge this week is a recipe one - you need to have the following on your creation:
  • The color blue
  • lace
  • 3 or more flowers
  • at least one butterfly
With everything else going on, my brain just couldn't completely wrap around the "recipe". Hopefully something will come to me so I can share it...

Visit the FBW blog to see some wonderful inspiration and to play along!

On a side note, I really thought that sleeping would be easier with an 8 yr old. However, Abby hasn't slept through the night in the last week or so. There have been some changes that may contribute but for the most part she is scared of her own house. We've lived here over 3 years and she acts as though it was just yesterday. I don't know how to get her to understand she is safe and that we (her parents) will protect her. It's a struggle and I'm in need of ANY suggestions on how to help her. It started that she was afraid of going down the hall to the bathroom by herself and now it's affecting her sleep. It's usually around 3am and lasts all morning. I thought it was a phase but it's lasting a LOT longer than I would expect.
