House Pictues - Scrap Room

Ok, here are first of many more pictures (not today though!) of our new house. For those of you who don't know, we just bought our first house so we are SUPER excited! Many friends from Memphis (where we used to live for 4 years) have requested that I share photos. I figure I'll start with one of my favorite rooms....my very own scrap room! Please forgive me as I wanted to post only one picture then have you click on it to see more but I can't figure it out and I'm running out of time. I need to leave soon to go get Abby and my afternoon is pretty packed! I will make sure to figure that out (with SOMEONES help!) before I post more pictures.

This is what you see when you look into my craft room. I have 12 paper trays on my desk that have all my 8.5x11 paper in them. As you can see there is a shelf that goes around half the room which is really nice for storing stuff. The stand that the TV is on was built by my dad...it's actually a 12x12 paper holder and it's FULL! The black crates hold IRIS containers and that is what all my scraps & embellishments are in.

Yep I even have room for friends (wanna come crop with me???). Right now this is a folding table but I bought another metal desk (similar to mine) but we still need to paint it black. You can't really see it but there is a pink crate full of Marvy punches. I'm hoping to store those another way. The container near the bookshelf is full of ribbon! My hubby is going to make me a ribbon holder so that will be hanging on the wall.

Just more of my stuff...Yes, I LOVE paper!

This is looking out of my room. Now realize this is just a few pictures and I didn't show everything. If you have any questions about things in my room, just ask!

Thanks for looking!

Swap Card #2

Good Morning! Can you believe I'm posting again...I'm doing pretty good here, LOL. Thank you to everyone who commented on my first swap card. I really do love the Fall Harvest Stamp set! The designer, Mabelle, even left a comment for me...how she found my blog, I have know idea but that's still so cool! She is an awesome designer and I just love her Fall Fun and Fall Harvest sets that are in the new Fall Supplement from The Angel Company.

My second card for the swap isn't as "cool" but I think it's still a nice card. It's a birthday card and who doesn't need birthday cards!

Again, it's the Willoughby collection. I'm really liking the colors in that collection. It's great for masculine cards. I find those types of cards are challenging for me. Thanks for looking!

All Supplies are from The Angel Company: Willoughby Sour With Collection, Birthday Wishes Stamp set.

I am a TAC Demonstrator so feel free to contact me if you'd like to purchase any of the supplies used.

Swap Card

The weekend is quickly coming to an end but I had a great one. How about you? The weather was great. We had some friends come to visit us and I got to play in my scrap room! I have a lot going on right now including swaps, a couple of crops (where I'll have a vendor booth) as well as all the things I want to do for me (and my family)! I got some new stamp sets and knew that I had to find a way to use one of the. I signed up for a swap where I had to use a current TAC stamp set and the Willoughby SWIC line. Below is one of the cards I came up with.

Isn't it cute?!?!? I LOOOVE this girl. She's so stinkin' cute. I colored her in with prismacolor pencils and OMS. Let me know what you think of her!! Thanks so much for looking!

Halloween Card

Sorry this is late today but I couldn't figure out how to do something and thankfully my friend, Danni helped me (thanks Danni!). One of the things I really want to start doing is to create things once I see stuff on other blogs that inspire me. One of the blogs I check regularly is Heather's Blog. On Monday she always posts a sketch. Normally, I just look at it and make a note to try it. Well this week, I tried it. My version is a little different but that's what I love about sketches. It gives you a place to start and you make it your own. I'm in the Halloween mood so I used one of my favorite TAC stamp sets to create this card.

I really liked how it turned out and I'm so loving my Copics! I have a lot to learn yet but playing sure is fun! The other thing I like to do is use scraps. I have bins next to my desk with all my scraps organized by color. When I go to create a card I always go to my scraps first. That's why a sketch usually changes for me...I want to use my scraps! The only bad thing is I'm not very good at making multiple cards of the same design. Each one of my cards is usually a one of a kind :)

Thanks for looking!

My girl

This weekend was filled with soccer games and I'm proud to say I think Abby is finally getting the hang of teamwork. FINALLY the tears weren't flowing as freely (they still flowed a little but she at least bounced back and continued to play). See my daughter is very competitive and very hard on herself. I know where she gets the hard on herself (thank you to me!) but the competitive thing has me stumped. My hubby, Jay isn't competitive at all and well I can't stand to be in the limelight so trying to succeed in sports is not really my thing either. We've been talking to Abby explaining that scoring goals isn't the most important thing (in an U5 team anyway) but being supportive of your team mates and trying your best is. This weekend she was high 5-ing her team mates & clapping for them when they scored. She got outplayed by the other team a couple of times (this is where the tears came into play) but she stopped crying and kept trying and guess what she scored numerous (she'd tell you it was 8) goals. I was very proud of her. Hopefully each week it will get better. Unfortunately for me, I charged my camera to take pictures of her soccer games but then forgot the camera. Oh well maybe next weekend...

But I do have some pictures to share. Abby just missed starting Kindergarten in Kansas by 5 days. So she is now going to a 5 day program at a preschool. Her teacher in Memphis was so wonderful - she had Abby writing, learning her sight words and doing some really awesome projects. Here it is a little different. Not near as much writing but still good. I can honestly say I really miss Mrs. Levesque though!! She helped Abby so much!

Here are two pictures of Abby on the first day of school.

Isn't she cute??? And look BUTTERFLIES on her shirt...if anyone knows my daughter she would know that she is absolutely in love with butterflies!! Her room had to be pink, purple & blue with butterflies. And guess what? Mommy obliged :) I'll have to show those pictures sometime!

Teacher Gift

Well as promised I'm sharing today. I love making teacher gifts. They work so hard and should be thanked for all they do. I'm usually working right up until the last minute to get the gift done. Not this Halloween. I saw so many cute creations in PaperCrafts Magazine that I just had to try to make some. Well here is what I came up with. I got the tall container at a $1 shop. I thought they were really neat and for only a buck who can beat that! It was a little hard to cover it with paper as it wasn't perfectly round. But I improvised and I think it turned out pretty cute! I put a foam square in the center, glued some black paper shred to the top of it and then stuck as many lollipops as I could in it. Here are a few close ups of the actual container.

I think Abby's Pre-K teacher is going to love this. Now, I just need to make myself one ;)
Thanks for Looking!

Still working...

Well I'm still working on trying to get my blog up and going. For some reason my NavBar won't work for me...Oh well I'll just have to do things a little differently. I'm also looking for my media card for my camera so I can take a picture of a little project I just finished. Have I mentioned that I have boxes & stuff everywhere!!! Today Abby had school all day so I was able to do work on some stuff at home. I should have been unpacking boxes & organizing my bathroom, doing laundry and stuff like that. But who wants to do that?? I needed a break. One of the things I've always wanted to do is make a master binder that holds images of all my stamps (which there are A LOT!). Well I finally decided there was no better time then now. So today I finished all my wood mounted stamps and have started on my unmounted ones. After I get that binder done I want to make one for all my punches & dies. Organization is good but I'm ready to PLAY!!

FINALLY...

Well I've finally entered the blogging world. Will I be any good at it? Who knows but at least I'm trying! Please be patient with me as I begin this little journey... My goal is to post once a day. I want this to be a way where people can get a little update about the family as well as see what little creative item I've made. Thank you to all my friends who've been encouraging (more like pushing, lol) me to do this. You are all very dear to me. Just realize I'll probably be calling on you to help me get this going!
